AI EVALS JOBS Post a role

What do these jobs pay, by city?

Median published midpoint across 4 cities with enough bands to rank. Base cash only, from 219 postings that say what they pay.

Ranked by median published midpoint

A city is ranked only if six or more postings in it publish a band, those bands come from at least three different employers, and no single employer supplies half of them. The employer count is in the table so you can check that yourself.

Places where one employer is the market

These cleared the band floor and then failed the other two tests. Each has enough published bands to compute a median and not enough different employers behind it for that median to describe a city. They are listed rather than hidden, because the concentration is the interesting part: a suburb that appears to outpay San Francisco usually turns out to be one company that happens to be headquartered there.

Read any of these as that employer's pay rather than that city's.

Method. Median of each posting's midpoint, computed from the 219 live roles that publish an annual USD band. Hourly contract rates and non-USD bands are excluded rather than converted. A role listing several cities counts once in each. To be ranked, a city needs six published bands, at least three distinct employers behind them, and no single employer supplying half or more. That last test exists because without it three Bay Area suburbs sat above San Francisco on the strength of one company each. Equity and bonus are excluded, which matters most at the frontier labs where they are the larger half of the offer.
